“I’ve seen first hand how Innovate Manitoba’s Bootcamps and Competitions provide integral support and coaching to accelerate the growth of entrepreneurs with scalable businesses,” said Joelle Foster, Director of Futurpreneur Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Nunavut, NWT. “The startups that emerge from these programs often go on to become a part of Futurpreneur’s most celebrated success stories.”

HERO sponsors support all Innovate Manitoba-led Bootcamps and Competitions each year and at the Visionary level, Futurpreneur is demonstrating a major commitment to the growth of Manitoba startups and the development of the province’s ecosystem.

“We are thrilled that Futurpreneur has made this important commitment,” said Jan Lederman, president of Innovate Manitoba. “Joelle is an excellent ambassador for Manitoba’s startup community and we look forward to our enhanced collaboration.”

Innovate Manitoba awards over $150,000 in cash and prizes to startup entrepreneurs each year.

“Our bootcamps are relentlessly focused on reducing the risk of failure and increasing the chances of success of Manitoba’s high growth potential companies,” said Lederman. “The bootcamps are expensive to run, but the results are there. Ninety-two per cent of the companies that have gone through Launch’Pad Bootcamp are still operating and have raised an average of $440,000 of risk capital per venture. We could not achieve this without the support of sponsors like Futurpreneur.”

Futurpreneur is a national, non-profit organization that provides financing, mentoring and support tools to aspiring business owners aged 18-39.

“Many of the startup entrepreneurs that come through our programs fit into the Futurpreneur age bracket,” said Lederman.  “We always recommend that they explore their options with Futurpreneur, which plays a critical role in supporting young entrepreneurs and providing them with mentors.”
